“It’s like seeing blues and greens for the first time”

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, and while I initially went for the waterfalls, I was absolutely enamored by the blues and greens from the lakes. Depending on the moss, algae, and bacteria levels (which are constantly changing) and even the intensity and angles of the sun light, the colors of the lakes can range from azure to green and grey to blue. There’s something so cathartic and calming about looking at blue waters and green fauna. It’s a magnificent reminder to take the time to appreciate the natural beauty of things around us.
